UAW Local 724/Alliance Interiors settled last week, with wage increases, shift premiums, improved benefits and working conditions.
American Axle is still out, and not faring well at the bargaining table from what I hear.
Fairfax Kansas (Malibu) went on strike yesterday, which may impact production at the Lansing Regional Stamping center (adjacent to the striking Lansing Delta Township (LDT) plant).
Last week saw some movement at the LDT bargaining table. expecting an update of some kind from the shop committee later today regarding Temporary Workers who were not hired last fall. UNOFFICIALLY, the remaining BIG ISSUE on the table is manpower. But that is word of mouth, not signed in triplicate, in blood, yadda, yadda.
The International UAW thinks we should get some sort of signing bonus-they won’t get any argument from me on that score. They also think the Team Leaders deserve a raise, and no Skilled Trades should be working production. But, that’s just opinion, not necessarily an entree on the negotiations menu.
Today was my pick for Settlement Day. My hubby, Pete, put his nickel down on Thursday. Time will tell.
Solid!
